Your organization may sometimes post information within Workhub that's important for you to know. If you're looking for updates, look no further than Bulletins!
The Bulletins component is home to all sorts of communication from your admins, including security, HR, operations, and safety notifications. This tool will tell you if there's anything needed for you to review. To get started reviewing those notifications, open the Bulletins component on your dash.
Reviewing Bulletins
When you open the component, you will see an array of tiles with messages for you to review. The page will default to show you any messages that are required for you to review.
Tiles with a red bell symbol are Alerts. Alerts are important, time-sensitive messages that should be your first priority when reviewing Bulletins.
Tiles with a red asterisk are Bulletins. These messages contain information that you need to know, but are less urgent than those posted as Alerts.
For Alerts, you'll also see notifications in the top banner on your Worker dash and on the dash tile itself letting you know there's something important for you to read.
Each tile within Bulletins will show you the subject of the Bulletin, the category of bulletin, the date and time it was posted, and the person who posted it. You can click the tile to open the Bulletin.
In the Bulletin itself, you'll see the bulletin message in the middle of the page. Be sure to read the message thoroughly to ensure you understand what your admins have posted!
The banner beneath the post contents indicates how much time you need to spend reviewing the post. The counter will count down how much time remains for you.
Depending on settings from your admin, once the timer has reached zero you may be automatically marked as reviewed on the Bulletin. If so, you'll see a green banner pop up indicating you've reviewed the bulletin.
If your admin has set it up so you need to manually mark the Bulletin as reviewed, the banner will change to display a Mark as Reviewed button. You need to click that button once you have completed reviewing the Bulletin to be successfully marked as done.
After reviewing a Required Bulletin, the Bulletin will be marked as Done. You will see a green bubble in the banner at the top of each Bulletin, and one in the top right corner of each Bulletin you've reviewed indicating it's all done!
Attachments
You may see a blue box in the bulletin contents as well. This is an attachment, and your admin has included it for you to review. Clicking the file will open up a preview for you within Workhub. You can review the file within that pop-up, or you can select Download to have the file downloaded to your device.
If you opt to view the attachment within the pop-up, it will count towards the timer countdown for the Bulletin. However, if you download the attachment and review the file in another program or window, it will not count towards your timer countdown.
Comments
Commenting on Bulletins is possible! You can use the Comment line beneath the Bulletin contents to add a comment. Comments are limited to 500 characters in length.
Enter your desired text in the comment field, then click the Comment button to submit your comment.
Your comment may be subject to admin review, depending on the settings your organization has in place. If that setting is in place, you may see a message indicating your comment is Pending Approval.
It's also possible to reply to others' comments. To do so, click the Reply option beneath the comment you want to reply to.
Enter your reply on the Comment line, then click Comment when you're ready to post.
As with other comments, your reply may be subject to admin approval before it appears.
Any Bulletin that has comments will appear in your Bulletin list with a small Comment icon in the bottom right corner.
If you've submitted a comment that's still awaiting admin approval, that comment icon will be gold.
Other tabs
The quick filters along the top of the screen will allow you to see different selections of Bulletins, including To Do, Done, Optional, or All. To view your bulletins according to those categories, simply click the filter button for those you'd like to see.
When you first open Bulletins, the page will default to show you the To Do tab. If you don't have any Bulletins that are required for you to read, the page will instead show you the All tab.
The Done tab will house all the Bulletins that were required for you that you've already reviewed.
The Optional tab will house the Bulletins that have been posted but aren't necessary for you to review.
Optional Bulletins will be indicated with a grey dotted circle icon. After reading them, they'll be marked as Completed.
