Admin Guide: Creating and Assigning Observations
Understanding the Analytics Dashboard
When you first select this component, you will see real-time analytics about behavior observations within your company:
Observation Check Charts: Displays the total volume of observation checks, detailing how many are marked as safe versus risk.
Historical Trend Graph: Shows the history of observations recorded within your selected date range.
Tip: Click the Filters icon to change your date range, filter by a specific location, or choose to include archived observations in the report.
How to Add Filters
Locate the Filter options tool menu near the upper-left corner of your main Policies page, select Add Filter and a pop up screen will open.
Select or check the specific parameter box you want to isolate and click continue at the bottom and repeat as needed.
Click Apply Filters. Your master dashboard list will immediately update.
A distinct blue filter bubble containing your chosen filter name (e.g., submitted by) will anchor itself in the top left corner, indicating that a filtered view is currently active. You can stack multiple filter layers as needed to further refine your search.
How to Remove Filters
To clear your sorted parameters and return to your complete, baseline inventory view:
Locate the active blue filter bubble at the top left of your Admin Dashboard.
Click the small X icon nestled inside that blue bubble.
The view will instantly clear the restriction and reload your standard current policies list feed.
Building an Observation Checklist
Add a Section: Click Add Section and enter the name of your new section.
Add Observation Checks: Click Add Observation to add your individual checks. Clicking off the text field will automatically save the section or observation name.
Import: If you like, you can choose from a template already created for you.
Delete unwanted/extra Section or Observation: Use the three dots at the end of the row, click and choose delete.
Move Observation/Section: You can "move" an observation or section by using the six dots at the beginning of the row. Click and hold the icon, drag it to the new location in your list, and drop/release
Review Detailed Metrics & N/A Settings: Once saved, clicking on the name of a section or observation check opens up further data and analytics specific to that item (using the same dashboard filters). Here, you can also choose to enable or disable the N/A option by section or observation.
Note: The system will display the exact number and percentage of safe or risk responses directly next to each observation check.
Setting Assignments and Frequencies
Navigate to the Assignments & Frequency tab.
Set the assignment parameters by Position or Location.
If you set an assignment as Required, the Frequencies option will appear, allowing you to dictate how often these checks must be completed.
Viewing Submissions
To view individual observations, select the Submitted Behavior Observations tab. You can click on any of the column headers to quickly sort and filter the submission ledger.
Component Settings
General
This Frequency setting is the percentage of the allowable elapsed time (frequency) until next submission is due.
For example: If the frequency is set for 1 month, and this setting is set to 80%,
then after 24 days the Observation would be marked as coming due, because (30 x 80% = 24)
Rewards
Workhub Rewards allows you to earn points by completing your compliance and ongoing tasks. You can then redeem these points for exclusive, high-quality items in our catalog! Every time you finish an assignment, your earned points are added to your balance
Just like all of our other components, you can add points for completing observations. You can choose from 0-5 points per submission and if needed, you can create a limit cap per month of how many submissions a worker can submit.
Worker Guide: How to Submit a Behavior Observation
As a worker, Behavior Observations allow you to submit safety insights directly for your jobsite.
Accessing the Module
Log into your dashboard.
Select the Behavior Observations component.

Review Past Activity: On this main layer, you can view the dates of your own past submissions as well as dates submitted by other workers (the contents of their submissions remain private). You will also see details showing the last time the observation checklist was updated by an admin.
Starting and Completing the Observation
Click Start Behavior Observation in the top right corner of your screen
Verify Your Location: Check the location name at the top of the form. If you need to change it, click the Location name to open a drop-down menu and select the correct jobsite.
Fill Out the Checklist: Read each statement and select the status that applies best. Depending on how your admin set up the check, you will see two or three options:
Add Context: You can choose to leave a text comment on any statement to provide more details.
Submit: Once you have completed all statements, click Submit in the top right corner of your screen
